Motor Cycle Diaries – I
This is the first of a series of posts that would detail how I went about learning to ride a motor cycle.
The story starts way before I bought my new Motor cycle last February. It start when I actually wanted to ride one and started on my professor's splendor. My professor consented on allowing us - me and my room mate - to learn on his motor cycle. He ended up running behind us so that his motor cycle does not fall.
The next chance to learn the motor cycle came when i started using my class mate's Yamaha RX 135 while doing my master's. Obviously, I managed it badly since the gear system in the RX 135 makes you come to neutral after the first gear and then go to second gear. The worst thing was managing the first gear and the clutch without stopping.
I did try a couple of times but never really mastered the trade. On the other hand, my brother had already mastered how to drive it while doing his under graduate studies. It was indeed at this juncture that I decided that I wanted to buy my own motor cycle.
After a brief discussion at home, where every one except me was dead against buying a motor cycle, we eventually went ahead and booked the bike - a super splendor.
What happened next would come in the next posts.
